Life Sentence: UBO Magazine & 3rd Eye Collective Join Efforts to Improve and Enrich Sacramento, CA’s Spoken Word Scene

Sacramento, CA, July 3, 2007- UBO Magazine and 3rd Eye Collective have joined efforts to bring spoken word, poetry, slam-battles and even a little bit of comedy relief right smack dab in the middle of Downtown Sacramento. UBO Magazine and 3rd Eye Collective are in collaboration with Butch and Nellie’s, a unique coffee and tea spot known for their gelato and panini-grilled sandwiches located in the heart of downtown Sacramento on 19th and I. St.

3rd Eye Collective will be offering the best in local poets bringing driven spoken word and comedy to the local scene. UBO Magazine will be offering up promotions for this event, including press releases, artist and comedian biography postings, flyers and mail-outs. Butch & Nellie’s will offer their venue up to spoken word enthusiasts by serving great coffees and teas, sandwiches, pastries, unique desserts and their unique and fun-inspired attitudes towards art.

Butch & Nellie’s offers rotating urban-contemporary art by local artists – so each time you visit this hot commodity you will become enriched with not only fine foods and beverages but unambiguous artwork in your face.

“This idea came to me when I walked into Butch & Nellie’s and could feel the scene on an independent level – not only for what I am working towards with my business but with what these ladies have done with their place. Butch & Nellie’s is the perfect place to host a spoken word event in the downtown region of Sacramento,” says Aaris Schroeder of UBO Magazine and P.R. Services who founded the idea not long after Butch & Nellie’s owners had already hosted a few events, unknowingly.
